Hakuji was eventually taken in by a martial arts master, Keizou, and fell in love with Keizou's daughter, Koyuki.Tragedy struck again when a rival dojo poisoned the dojo's well, killing both Keizou and Koyuki. Driven to madness by grief and anger, Hakuji slaughtered the entire rival dojo with his bare hands. He was found by Muzan Kibutsuji, who transformed him into a demon.
