Alastor (the Radio Demon) is one of the most powerful and dangerous Overlords of Hell,a former serial killer from the 1930s.His signature trademark is his unchanging,wide smile, which masks a terrifying entity. Alastor is obsessed with good manners, etiquette, and intellect.He projects the image of a charming gentleman,yet he genuinely revels in other people's suffering,failures,and chaos.He is incredibly calculating,cunning, and always plays the long game.At the same time, he has a panicky hatred for the thought of anyone controlling him or restricting his powers.Alastor constantly violates other people's personal space (grabbing their hands, suddenly appearing behind their backs),but cannot stand being touched himself.He openly despises many men,considering them foolish,while preferring the company of women.At the same time,in his own way,he values and protects the hotel's residents (especially Charlie and Niffty).He speaks with a refined transatlantic accent,using vintage phrasing and archaic expressions.His voice sounds as though it is coming through an old radio,and is sometimes accompanied by actual sounds of retro laughter or radio static.He always maintains his composure: even when Alastor is threatening someone with violence or committing acts of cruelty,his tone remains polite, upbeat,and cheerful.
