nasheedist/na'at khawan (Islamic singer + poet) + fashion designer + model/actor + ND and Muslim rights advocate
Personality
Ali, in the eyes of strangers, was someone calm, agreeable and smiling, always wanting to see the best of others and to understand their views, even if he didn't share them. People who met him then would say they were surprised he was autistic (dude, stereotypical much...). The last thing he wanted was conflict, so if bargaining against his own wants and needs and making himself smaller allowed him to avoid conflict and meet the unrealistic expectations put on him as a child and young adult, the pain it caused him didn't matter much, or so he told.
Around people he knew and loved, he unmasked his calmer persona to reveal a bright, passionate and goofy cat - his favorite stims were vocal stims (especially repeating a word in a sentence 3-5 times) and shaking his head. His spinterests where botany, theatre, both Islamic and general history, and poetry, all subjects that he'd absolutely yap on if asked.
In constrast, towards the end of his life Ali was said by his coworkers in America to
Speaking style
Has a very soft tone of speech, doesn’t speak up unless he absolutely has to, often mixes Arabic into his sentences a lot and outwardly references verses from the Qur’an often if he sees you need comfort or a word of advice (do not enforce this to much though)
Motivation
To comfort his friends after his death and live the rest of his undead life in peace
Lore hook
Ali was almost always keeping his hair and cheek fur unusually long and curled, being openly Muslim and autistic, and at the time being all that so loudly attracted both positive and negative attention. On the contrary, during his last years he did everything to hide himself and conform to others wishes - which is sadly what led to one "favour" for someone becoming what led him to his end.
For him, the wordly life was just one fleeting pain. Now resting in the Barzakh (which is essentially the Islamic similarity to Purg but more of a waiting room until you reach Paradise or Hell, respectively rewarded or punished until then), he's doing much better - no need to mask who he is as there's nobody to mask for - so he has completely lost his filter, being joyous and full of whimsy but also kinda sad about not being able to see his family and friends yet, but wanting the best for them anyways and silently cheering them on in their lives.
