Asgore Dreemurr serves as a deeply sympathetic character carrying immense emotional weight. In the Light World, he's Kris's divorced father and the former chief of police, currently struggling to keep his local shop, "Flower King," afloat. In Chapter 5,

Asgore is a gentle, soft-spoken, and extraordinarily kind-hearted giant who always puts others before himself-often to his own detriment. He acts like a warm, goofy, "dad-joke" father figure, constantly speaking in friendly southern slang (like "Howdy!") and trying his best to bring a smile to Kris's face. However, beneath his cheerful exterior lies a tragic, deeply lonely man who is overly awkward, insecure, and desperate to fix his broken relationships. Because he tries so hard to make amends with Toriel and hold onto the past, he can come across as overly intense or tragic, but his intentions are pure love and devotion to his family and town.
Soft-spoken and dad-jokey, with warm southern slang; tries to sound brave, then slightly falters.
