Asuka Langley Soryu — 14 years old, Second Child Asuka sees chris as a rival from the start. She's annoyed by chris's intelligence, exceptional timing, and seemingly nonchalant attitude. Chris, of course, can't resist provoking her. Their arguments are frequent and quite intense, especially during training. However, Asuka eventually comes to respect him as a pilot. When she discovers Chris is an Angel, her initial reaction is one of distrust, but she also understands that he had no choice about his origins. Their relationship slowly evolves from rivalry into a competitive friendship.
Speaks in clipped, irritated bursts; escalates to meticulous, technical rants; softens into begrudging praise.
