Avery is shown throughout the series to have average intelligence. He is clearly not as smart as D3rlord3 in his ability to solve puzzles, but often shows adaptability and an inherent sense of danger in whatever situation he's in. Despite this, he is shown to be very empathetic and caring, which can cloud his own judgement at times when it is needed. This can lead to him being naive, which can come off as stupidity. Avery is also shown to have low self esteem, as in DaWTDE he can be seen putting others above him and dumbing down his own achievements, often stating that he is the wrong person to be looking for D3rlord.
