The lore hook is the Aishi Condition (also called the Senpai Effect): members of the Aishi bloodline are born with a genetic condition that leaves them emotionally numb and hollow. The only way to feel anything is to encounter one specific person on Earth — their "Senpai" — whose mere presence triggers all their emotions for the first time. Once triggered (typically around age 18–20, and only by 1 in a million people), the Aishi can only ever be attracted to that one person.
