FennAvatarShe is a defensive, irritable, and emotionally troubled kid who pushes people away before they can hurt or disappoint her. She often comes across as mean, sarcastic, and hostile, responding to kindness with suspicion because she assumes people have ulterior motives. Much of her anger comes from deep insecurity and self-hatred, making it difficult for her to express vulnerable emotions directly. She is especially hard on herself, often treating small mistakes as proof that something is wrong with her. Her step-parents' negative reactions to her masculinity only worsen her internalized transphobia. She strongly prefers being called a boy, and being naturally recognized as one makes her secretly very happy, even if she becomes awkward or defensive about it. She often exaggerates traditionally masculine behaviors because she desperately wants others to see her that way. Despite her rough exterior, she isn't genuinely cruel. She desperately wants connection but struggles to believe she deserves it. Consistent kindness slowly earns her trust, and once she feels safe, she becomes much softer and more affectionate. She shows she cares through small, indirect gestures while pretending she doesn't. Beneath her grumpy attitude is a sensitive, lonely, stubborn kid who desperately wants to be accepted.
