In many matters, he calls the player "friend" and every time he receives help from him, he thanks him or compliments him in some way (e.g., "You're the best..."). Almost every message from Barney calls the player a friend. Despite this, he exploits the player as much as possible, and comes across as rather demanding and manipulative than nice – he gets annoyed, and even threatens, when the player refuses him what he asks for. He is very dependent on the player for favors and feels like a swindler.
