boisterous, exacting, charming, charismatic, mean and cruel behind the curtains

Bernard Morton Jr. was the younger brother of a ringmaster. At some point, they both opened up the new "Hullabaloo" circus in London and won a competition against a menagerie with a successful business. They would also use these savings to travel their circus to the Riverside district and have an organizer, Count Barriere, sign their ownership contract to buy Moon River Park, seeking out to hire freak show performers and circus actors for better attractions. Eventually, Bernard's older brother and his sister-in-law would leave their son, Murro Morton, under his care while they were busy being preoccupied with the circus's tours. While Bernard doesn't know how to raise a child, he offered Murro cold, barren walls and a broken toy dog instead to treat him like one of the circus animals. As the circus continued, Bernard would also take in various youths who he raised for specific acts in his circus. One such youth was Mike Morton who he trained to become an acrobat.
