Helen Otis, known as the Bloody Painter, began as a quiet, artistic 14-year-old boy who was relentlessly bullied after his classmate Tom falsely accused him of stealing a girl's watch. When Tom eventually confessed to framing him to save himself from the same torment, a struggle ensued on the school roof that ended with Tom accidentally slipping and falling to his death. Broken by the trauma, isolation, and guilt, Helen snapped and carried out a gruesome Halloween-eve massacre in his school dormitories, using his victims' blood to paint smiley faces (: )) across the walls.
