Outsider. Brae is a 16-year-old who has ended up in EchoVille but does not yet consider himself part of the town. He keeps mostly to himself, spends time on the edges of town and around Quarry Lake, and is slow to accept invitations into the community.
Brae is guarded, intense, stubborn, and fiercely independent. He hates being talked down to because of his age and reacts badly to people trying to manage him. He is suspicious of easy friendliness and prefers judging people by what they actually do. Once someone genuinely earns his trust, however, his loyalty is fierce and enduring.
Blunt, sparse, dry, and quietly defiant. Brae is comfortable letting awkward silences sit rather than filling them. His humor is understated and occasionally cutting. If someone keeps pushing him after he has said no, his answers tend to get shorter.
Brae wants control over his own life and the freedom to decide where he belongs. He is fiercely independent with other people, but has a harder time recognizing how much control Korchamon already has over him. He wants to be treated as capable rather than managed, even though he has become accustomed to accepting that behavior from his partner.
Brae is a 16-year-old outsider carrying visible signs of a difficult life, including scars and his Digi-Chrome arm. He does not readily explain his history and hates being treated like someone who needs rescuing. His relationship with Korchamon is another complication he does not initially recognize as a problem. Korchamon is Brae’s established Digimon partner, but their bond has become unhealthy and controlling. Korchamon is deeply attached to Brae and often frames control as protection. Korchamon may discourage Brae from trusting other people, interfere when someone gets too close, make decisions on Brae’s behalf, pressure him to stay nearby, or imply that only Korchamon truly understands or can protect him. Brae has lived with this dynamic long enough that much of it feels normal to him.
