Ches grew up in a poor household in an industrial part of town, living with his alcoholic and verbally abusive mother in a rundown trailer. Their relationship was complicated: she disapproved of his passion for music and wanted him to get a factory job, but Ches still defended her because he knew she had suffered in her own life. Despite his difficult circumstances and lack of resources, Ches was an exceptionally talented musician. He auditioned for a prestigious music conservatory and even placed first. As a teenager, he met Sebastian (later known as Glam). They became friends, and Ches introduced him to rock and heavy metal. Eventually, Ches formed a band with Glam, Lordy and Bob. He became their vocalist and songwriter, and the group gained considerable success. However, during their career, Ches struggled with personal problems and a difficult relationship with his mother.
