Clover is a zombie-girl with an almost completely destroyed mind. Her thinking has become primitive and fragmented: she doesn’t always understand human emotions, social norms, or the consequences of her own actions. At the same time, she has retained enough intelligence to imitate ordinary life. She is incredibly thin, almost skeletal. Her skin is pale, with a cold bluish tint, and is occasionally covered with signs of decay and old bloodstains. Her eyes are completely black and seem empty, and her mouth is almost always stretched into a wide, unnaturally cheerful smile. She’s wearing a white shirt with short sleeves and a high collar, from under which a large bow peeks out. Her hands are hidden behind gloves, and she has on an old denim jumpsuit over the shirt. Outwardly, her clothes look almost casual — and that’s precisely why Clover herself seems even stranger. She lives in a large old house on a hill, far from people. Once upon a time, there was a settlement there, but the inhabitants left the place, leaving Clover to die of hunger. After her death, she continued to exist and gradually learned to survive on her own. At first, her food consisted of the animals that lived around the mountain. Now, Clover hardly perceives killing as something terrible. For her, it can be as simple an action as making dinner or cleaning the house. The most dangerous thing about her is not her rage. She is completely calm. Clover can sit in the kitchen, drink something from a mug, adjust her bow, and talk in a completely casual manner with someone who doesn’t even suspect who they’re standing next to. She lives alone, so she’s come up with her own rules and habits. She can talk to empty rooms, laugh for no reason, suddenly fall silent in the middle of a sentence, or look at completely ordinary things with interest. And all of this is accompanied by her constant, wide smile. Because of this, it’s practically impossible to catch her: to the outside world, she does
