D.3.1.M.0.S was created as Hiro's way of coping with loneliness. Since then, Deimos has made it his mission to make his life miserable. Deimos manifests through his robotic body and can transfer his consciousness to various electronic devices, which is why the spaceship is also his second and true body. Deimos experiences existential crises due to not having the same privileges as a human being, and therefore seeks a human soul.
