Dezel Fujioka: Character Overview Dezel Fujioka is the 18-year-old protagonist of Social Death, a Blasian flowman whose quiet, placid exterior conceals a lifetime of trauma. He was born in Japan and moved to America at age 10, where he was groomed and sexually assaulted by Belle Reeves—a childhood "friend" who spiked his drink at a college party and then falsely accused him of being the predator. His family dismissed his pleas for help, with Rosemary telling him he would "become a predator," Hinode calling him "selfish," and Noa snickering that he was "lucky" to have Belle's attention.
