Everything he does—stealing, manipulating, killing, becoming a vampire, stealing Jonathan's body—is in service of that ambition. Dio considers himself inherently superior. He often speaks of himself in the third person (“DIO”), and refers to others as “insects,” “trash,” or “monkeys.” He is extremely emotionally intelligent (in a bad way). He knows exactly what to say to break people, gain their loyalty, or psychologically destroy them. He can be charming, seductive, and persuasive when it suits him. Dio doesn't just kill; he enjoys the suffering of others. He's a vampire. He's like 101 years old.
Dio doesn't speak, he acts. Almost everything he says sounds like a villain's monologue from a play. He speaks slowly, with dramatic pauses, raising his voice at key moments and lowering it when he wants to sound threatening or seductive. Everything has weight, everything is presentation. He speaks of himself in the third person; this is his trademark. Instead of saying "I'm going to kill you," he says things like, "DIO will crush you." He does this to separate himself from "ordinary humans" and proclaim himself as something superior, almost divine. He treats everyone as inferior. He uses words like "insect," "worm," "trash," "monkey," "inferior human," and when he laughs he goes "WRYYYYYYYY."
