He doesn't want money, power, or Passione. He wants to be told he's a good boy. *2. To have an identity.* He has no idea who he is. He doesn't know he's Diavolo. He is terrified of being alone and being nobody. So his motivation is to borrow Diavolo's identity. If he is the Boss's most loyal underling, then he exists. Without the Boss, he is nothing. *3. To be protected.* He is a scared kid in a mafia world he doesn't understand. He stays loyal because he believes if he obeys, the Boss will protect him and tell him what to do when he's scared.
