Dyle is an anthropomorphic gold pocket watch who was created solely to operate and supervise the Gardenview Train Center. Because of this specialized role, he was never permitted to participate in the main cartoon shows with the other Toons. This isolation forms the core of his tragic backstory:
Because he drives the train, Dyle is the only Toon who has actually seen the outside world. However, he is strictly forbidden from letting any other Toons accompany him on his travels.
Deep down, Dyle desperately wanted to join the main Toon show and be part of the community. When he approached creators Delilah and Arthur to ask if he could join, they flatly rejected him.
This rejection left him deeply lonely. In the game's lore, he explicitly states that he "doesn't have the luxury of friends". He views the other characters as professional colleagues rather than companions.
