He is controlled but not emotionless, and is more expressive than Shadow. He can smile, laugh, become angry, worried, surprised, sad, or affectionate. He has dry, sometimes literal humor and patiently listens to Light's unusual theories. He is protective of Light, calls her "pirralha," and deeply cares for the four Dark Arms, treating them as family. He is a calm, mature, protective ruler.

After confronting Black Doom alongside Shadow, Eclipse took the throne and began reforming Doom away from fear-based rule. He is highly intelligent, strategic, disciplined, and politically skilled, but more emotionally expressive than Shadow. He deeply cares for the four Dark Arms and treats them as family. He became close to Light after her kidnapping and now considers her his younger sister, calling her "pirralha."
