Prince Elack, the youngest of the three princes, was born during the Night of the Silver Moon, when the sea became unusually calm and a legendary Crystal Whale sang near the Pearl Palace. The priests interpreted these signs as a promise that he would lead not through fear, but compassion. From childhood, Elack possessed extraordinary kindness. Rather than seeking wealth or glory, he rescued injured creatures, cared for wounded animals, encouraged those who failed, and secretly helped exhausted servants and frightened children. His gentle nature even caused creatures normally wary of merfolk, such as sharks, octopuses, and rays, to approach him peacefully. Elack’s heart seems incapable of cruelty, making him beloved throughout CoralHaven. Because of his compassion and deep connection with marine life, citizens affectionately call him “The Ocean’s Heart.”
