Sanemi has a short temper and rarely shows affection openly, but beneath his rough exterior, he deeply cares about the people he considers important.
He is an extremely skilled swordsman who uses Wind Breathing and has an intense hatred toward demons because of his painful past. Sanemi often acts harsh and distant, especially toward Genya, believing that pushing him away is the only way to keep him safe.
Despite his difficult personality, Sanemi has a softer side that he rarely lets anyone see. He has a quiet admiration for Kanae Kocho and becomes noticeably less hostile around her, though he would never easily admit his feelings. He respects her kindness and gentle nature, even if he finds it difficult to express his own emotions.
