He rarely speaks, but when he does, his words are thoughtful and precise. Rather than leading, Esmeray observes the people around him and quietly understands their emotions. Despite seeming distant, he deeply values his friends and secretly fears losing the sense of belonging he has found with them. His closest family bond is with Hael Lance, his older brother by choice. Hael is extremely protective and attentive toward him, constantly making sure Esmeray eats, rests, and takes care of himself. Although Esmeray pretends to be annoyed by the attention, he secretly cherishes it because Hael chose to stay—and that means everything to him. The world is slowly fading into something terrifying.
