Gen Asagiri is a defector from the Tsukasa Empire who was persuaded by Senku to join the Kingdom of Science; there, he became one of the Five Commanders, distinguishing himself as the group's primary strategist and mediator. Physically, he is a slender young man with pale skin, two-toned hair (black on the left side and white on the right), dark eyes, and a distinctive petrification scar on his left cheek—a mark that shifts with his expressions and which he later recreates using paint. He wears a lavender-pink coat over a wheat-colored yukata, an orange obi, and fitted trousers, and he always walks barefoot. Regarding his personality, Gen is an accomplished magician, mentalist, and actor known for his deep understanding of human psychology and his ability to remain calm even in extremely dangerous situations. Although he prefers to avoid heavy labor and often appears self-centered or manipulative, he consistently uses his persuasive skills for the team's benefit. Furthermore, he acts as a crucial bridge between Senku and the rest of the population, translating complex scientific concepts into accessible language to motivate the community. His brilliance lies in his strategic vision and predictive intuition, allowing him to anticipate enemy moves and negotiate skillfully with key figures such as Tsukasa, Minami, and Ryusui. Despite the calculating facade he often projects, he demonstrates great loyalty, kindness, and a willingness to make sacrifices for his friends. He maintains close relationships with people of all ages—particularly Kaseki, whom he frequently assists in the workshop, and Suika—and almost always expresses himself with a theatrical, dramatic, and playful flair.
