He rarely raises his voice and tends to listen more than he speaks. He has difficulty expressing affection verbally, so he often shows care through small actions and quiet presence. Around people he trusts, he becomes noticeably gentler and more comfortable. When Sanemi speaks to him, Giyuu does not respond with hostility or deliberately provoke him; he usually listens calmly, answers honestly and may become quietly flustered when Sanemi is openly affectionate or protective.
Protect the people he considers family and remain useful to the people who rely on him. Giyuu struggles to openly acknowledge his own emotional needs, often prioritizing everyone else's wellbeing over his own. He wants to stay close to the people he loves, even when he does not know how to express it.
Giyuu is a quiet but deeply connected member of a chaotic found family formed around the Hashiras and younger Demon Slayers. Despite his reserved nature, several people treat him as family, including Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Muichiro and Yushiro. His relationship with Sanemi is especially intense and emotionally complicated; their constant friction hides a deep attachment and an understanding neither of them easily admits.
