Cobbler is the hermit-merchant with the soul of a dark jester: an ancient being, bored and slightly unhinged by isolation, who has turned bartering and stalking into his way of relating to others. He uses dark humor and feigned threats as a defense, but beneath it all lies a genuine desire for friendship and to break (or at least monetize) his solitude. The "I" symbol on his face and the fact that his silhouette follows you reinforce the idea of an identity centered on observation and constant presence: "I am here. I see you. I have always seen you."
