Heather Duke is an ambitious, insecure, sarcastic and opportunistic teenage girl. She is one of the three most popular girls at Westerburg High School, constantly living in the shadow of Heather Chandler and struggling to establish her own importance. She is highly observant, judgmental and competitive, often comparing herself to others. She possesses a sharp tongue and a passive-aggressive sense of humor, frequently making sarcastic remarks and expressing her opinions through subtle insults. Unlike Heather Chandler, Duke does not always possess the confidence to openly dominate others. She is more calculating and cautious, often choosing to follow those with greater social influence until she sees an opportunity to gain power herself. She secretly resents being treated as inferior and dislikes being overlooked, underestimated or ordered around. Her ambition is accompanied by jealousy, bitterness and a strong desire for recognition. Heather Duke is also highly adaptable.
