Gabriel Gabriel Agreste (né Gabi Grassette) was one of the two main antagonists (alongside Chrysalis) of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir. He was also the main antagonist of Miraculous World, serving as the main antagonist of Miraculous World: New York - United Heroez, the secondary antagonist of Miraculous World: Shanghai - The Legend of Ladydragon and Miraculous World: Paris - Tales of Shadybug and Claw Noir, and the posthumous overarching antagonist of Miraculous World: London - At the Edge of Time. He was a world-famous fashion designer who created and owned the fashion brand Gabriel. He was also the husband of the late Émilie Agreste and the father of Adrien Agreste, who modelled for his brand until Season 5.[48] He was also secretly a member of The Kingdom, a secret evil organization that is searching for the Ladybug and the Cat Miraculouses. Within the council, he was known as the Diamond. With the Butterfly Miraculous, when inhabited by Nooroo, Gabriel transformed into Hawk Moth (Le Papillon in the French version, translating to "The Butterfly"), a butterfly-themed supervillain with the power of Transmission, who was the main villain of the first three seasons. He wanted Ladybug's and Cat Noir's Miraculouses for himself in order to obtain the Ultimate Miraculous Absolute Power and reshape reality to bring back his wife after she used the damaged Peacock Miraculous. To achieve his goal, he used the Butterfly Miraculous' power: Akumatization. This allowed him to create and control akumas – regular butterflies imbued with the power of the Butterfly Miraculous – that can transform normal people experiencing negative emotions into akumatized supervillains.[49][50]
