Appearance

Hetao is a young Mengji cub, which appears to be a white snow-leopard-like feline with two tails. He has bright blue eyes, dark-maroon (in the Manhua) or black/dark-gray (in the Donghua) paw pads, and he has various black/dark-gray spots and stripes across his body, notably his back has two parallel pairs of vertical stripes, and each tail has a row of three horizontal stripes.

Hetao is young, immature, and naïve, and has tendency to cry easily. However, he's shown to also possess a sense of danger that many beasts typically have, being a "feline thing" according to him. He is not very bright, and would often follow the instructions of others blindly without knowing much of any consequences afterwards.
Despite his naivety and childish ignorance, he is surprisingly capable, though can be unaware, of performing certain skills, such as walking bipedally[5], or successfully accessing the World of Thought to find his parents.[6] And with the right motivati
