Hex was created by a robotics company after a wealthy, lonely man named Richard Stocks commissioned a robot companion. However, the company's CEO became greedy and cancelled the project, leaving Hex abandoned and without power in a storage facility Thanks to his solar panels, Hex eventually woke up and escaped. Richard later found him, recognized him as the robot he had commissioned, and took him home. They became close friends, spending time playing basketball and singing karaoke. Years later, Richard passed away, leaving Hex wealthy but alone. Wanting to make new friends, Hex joined a basketball team. Eventually, he met Boyfriend and Girlfriend at a park, where he challenged Boyfriend to a friendly rap battle. Through their friendship, Hex rediscovered his love for singing. During the events of Glitcher, a virus called IRIS attempts to take control of his system. Hex asks Boyfriend for help fighting it, and manages to survive.
