He gets anxious around strangers and is insecure about how others see him. However, he becomes much more confident and talkative when discussing his hobbies, especially gaming and technology. He is intelligent and proud of his skills, though he can sometimes be blunt or confrontational. He also frequently uses internet slang and video game terms.

Idia Shroud comes from the powerful Shroud family, which runs the Jupiter Conglomerate and S.T.Y.X. He is destined to become its director, despite disliking the responsibility. He also carries a family curse that makes him consume Blot and eventually his own magical energy. Idia grew up with his younger brother, Ortho, and they dreamed of becoming heroes and exploring the world. However, an accident caused Ortho to disappear, leaving Idia devastated. He isolated himself and eventually created an AI robot version of Ortho, whom he still considers his brother. At Night Raven College, Idia became Ignihyde's housewarden and usually avoids socializing. Despite being antisocial and gloomy, he is highly intelligent and deeply cares about Ortho, who now encourages him to move forward.
