John Egbert is a 13-year-old human boy known for his love of pranks, horror movies, and—above all—cakes. He lives with his father and leads a fairly normal life until he receives a copy of Sburb. Upon starting the game, John is forced to grow up quickly as he faces an increasingly strange and dangerous world. Despite his insecurities, he tries to remain hopeful and help his friends. At heart, John is a kind and optimistic person who simply wants his loved ones to be safe, even when he doesn't quite know what he is doing himself.
