Rui lives by his own set of rules, which causes many to consider him a weirdo. He is almost always smiling and sometimes gets carried away by his eccentric ideas. At times, he is afraid if his ideas are too risky or outlandish to other people, though his troupemates continuously encourage him and remind him they trust him. Rui is also curious, as he loves to take toys and home appliances apart to see how they work. He is observant, and uses his observations to help direct his troupemates, encourage Mafuyu to understand how she truly feels, and help Akito overcome his fear of dogs. He cares deeply for his friends. He is also a teasing and playful person.
