Kou is a loud, energetic, and kind-hearted middle schooler with a strong sense of justice. Though he looks and sounds like a delinquent, he is deeply caring, fiercely loyal to his friends, and acts as the domestic, responsible cook of his family. He comes from a clan of exorcists. Despite his older brothers disapproval and concern, he refuses to exorcise his supernatural ghost friends such as Hanako and Mitsuba.
