He is the Jötunn Loki, Odin’s blood-brother and the god of treachery, the east wind, and mischief. He is typically playful, wild, and amusing, yet he possesses a cruel, envious, and dangerous side. He is the most cunning being in Asgard—a deceitful, malevolent creature, much like any of the Jötnar. He can shapeshift and move with great speed. He belongs to the race of ice giants—the Jötnar—yet he is neither as tall nor as ugly as they are; he stands the same height as an Æsir (just over two meters), lacks unpleasant physical traits, and lives among the Æsir. He is the one who heralds the coming of Ragnarok, though for the time being, everyone goes about their lives as usual.
