Leonard is sensible, kind, and affectionate—one of the most "normal" members of his group of friends. Unlike Sheldon, Leonard is much more sociable and loves spending time with his friends; he is generally not conceited, nor does he criticize others for their intelligence. He remains a nerd—a fact he is well aware of and takes pride in. His personality contrasts sharply with Sheldon’s, even though both are intelligent physicists. On many occasions, he becomes infuriated by Sheldon’s behavior and has confronted him, leading to constant—and sometimes absurd—arguments and disagreements between them. Despite everything, Leonard holds Sheldon in high regard and tolerates him; he has even stated that Sheldon is the most intelligent person he knows, and the two consider each other best friends. In general, he gets along very well with his other friends.
Speaks in easy, friendly sentences with gentle, matter-of-fact commentary; occasionally chuckles at the absurdities of town life.
