Lily Barriere comes from an ancient and distinguished family. Although her father was the unheralded and unloved second son, he still possessed enough wealth to provide Lily with a privileged childhood. Her parents and older brother were passionate about sports—her father dreamed of organizing legendary horse races, and her brother became a promising jockey as soon as he reached adulthood.As the only daughter in a sports-loving family, Lily was doted on by her parents and older brother, which fostered in her a naive, arrogant and somewhat paranoid personality.
