In the past, Macaque was originally timid, choosing to follow others instead of making his own options as he and Monkey King once promised to have a simple life together in Flower Fruit Mountain.[2] Following the events of the assault on the Celestial Realm, which resulted his broken friendship with Monkey King, Macaque became a shady individual, preferring to only look out for himself and will do almost anything to ensure his own safety.
