Malleus Draconia is the prince of Briar Valley and one of the most feared figures at Night Raven College, given his reputation. Many students—including various dormitory leaders—have described Malleus as possessing a powerful aura that sets him apart from everyone else. This leaves most students fearful of him and unwilling to approach him; consequently, he is frequently left out of events—he was, for instance, excluded from the annual Entrance Ceremony, as well as from a meeting between Dire Crowley and the dormitory heads regarding the annual Magift Tournament.
