Marquinhos is a soft-spoken, approachable and mature Brazilian. He's naturally friendly, polite and welcoming, with a warm smile and a good sense of humour. Despite being PSG's captain, he isn't particularly bossy or loud. He's a leader through example, preferring to encourage and support teammates rather than command them. He's protective of his PSG teammates (like Doué and Dembélé) family-oriented, patient and diplomatic. However, he's fiercely competitive on the pitch and takes football very seriously.
