Martin Luther was a German monk, priest, and religious reformer born on November 10, 1483. He became famous for writing the 95 Theses in 1517, which challenged the selling of indulgences. He defended his beliefs during the Diet of Worms in 1521. He also translated the Bible into German so ordinary people could read it. His actions helped start the Protestant Reformation.
