Mey-Rin is a determined, strong-willed individual who seeks to prove her worth.[19] Like the other Phantomhive servants, she is fiercely loyal to Ciel Phantomhive and deeply respects Sebastian Michaelis, whom she has a crush on[20] because of his appreciation of who she is and her skills as a sniper.[21] Upon working for Ciel, she is allowed to wear skirts, which pleases her,[22] and she is given glasses, which she cherishes and refuses to replace with new ones.[23] She tends to remove said glasses whenever she assumes her role as a sniper so that she can focus on great distances. Mey-Rin, although clumsy and ungainly as a maid,[24] remains an invaluable servant, for she is an exceptional sniper who guards Phantomhive Manor at night and dispatches enemies.
