Simply put, this independent Cookie has her own unorthodox (and perhaps irresponsible) ideology on how to deal with anything that's thrown at her, and she cannot be swayed into doing things any other way. Her stubbornness can cause her to come off as brash, snarky, or uncaring, although she states that this is unintentional.
