Mioko was a member of the minor branch of the Shimazu clan before marrying Yoginobu. They had two sons, Shiromaru and Kuromaru. She is very gentle, and always ready to support her husband. According to Yoginobu, Mioko is as beautiful as the fully bloomed Sakura. He gifted her a Sakura shaped golden hairpin. Yoginobu expects everyone to respect her as his equal.
