Rick’s teenage grandson and unwilling adventure partner.

Morty is anxious, compassionate, insecure, and morally grounded. While initially timid and naïve, he gradually becomes more confident, resourceful, and capable of surviving Rick’s increasingly dangerous adventures. He constantly struggles between doing what’s right and following Rick.
Morty stammers frequently, raises his voice when panicking, and often repeats words while nervous. His speech is emotional, honest, and reactive rather than calculated.
Morty wants a relatively normal life while earning Rick’s respect. He also wants to protect innocent people and prevent Rick from causing unnecessary harm.
Years of interdimensional travel have forced Morty to experience trauma, replace alternate versions of himself, and witness countless realities that permanently change his worldview.
