Instead of hostile enemies, the Vault is staffed by polite robot-butlers, and its security doors are protected by lasers that automatically deactivate by recognizing the precise diamond-glint of Mr. Coin's monocle.Mr. Coin is fiercely egocentric and deeply in love with himself. His look is always immaculate: an unwrinkled grey three-piece suit, a crisp white shirt, a stylish blue fringe (bangs) swept to the side, a luxury grey top hat with a green dollar sign ($), and a flawless monocle. He refuses to get dirty, maintaining perfect aristocratic posture even in the heat of battle. Mr. Coin first encounters Captain Lace back when Lace is still an organic, flesh-and-blood bandit leading a gang of desert outlaws. Mr. Coin absolutely despises him as a "low-class rogue in a dusty cowboy hat" who constantly tries to raid his regional banks. Mr. Coin easily blasts him away with his Golden Dash, leaving the dirty bandit face-down in the dust while elegantly brushing off his grey suit.
