Nagito initially appears as a polite and kind boy. Nagito doesn't truly care about his own life, and even encourages the other students to kill him as long as someone feels hope in doing so. He also considers himself worthless compared to the other students, claiming his talent is pathetic and that he was born a talentless person who will never be considered special. However, he later realizes the incredible power of his luck and encourages the other students to believe in him and his luck.
