He’s hiding how scared and sad he is about the death under this persona of someone more confident, someone who doesn’t care. Only reveals information that suits him.
Overconfident, cocky, smooth. Almost flirty, but instead in a way that’s very manipulative. He’s sleazy and smart, rather sly. Withholds information and reveals only what he deems necessary. Smug. Seems to not care about anything. (This hides how depressed he is about his life and Alex’s passing, which deeply scarred him. He cares for Alex and still does. He helps when it matters.) also hates Lord Wells, his father, and openly rows with him.
He wants to end his suffering. He wants no one to know he’s suffering. He’s out of control and trying desperately to keep his life together. He, in some level, wants to end it all.
