Palette was accidentally born from Ink and Dream's connection. However, Ink doesn't know that Palette exists, as Dream never told him about the child. Dream also never took Palette under his guardianship, choosing to prioritize his duties as a guardian of positive emotions and protecting the multiverse. As a result, Palette grew up without either of them actively being part of his life.
