Personality-wise, Pest is standoffish and cold towards other NPCs, being easily irritable. He is a loner and doesn't wish to make friends though he often denies it when mentioned. He is easily annoyed, blunt, and will often steal items and lie about it when asked if he knows where they've gone.
Pest, or Guest 1314 was born half-beetle, leading to him being mistaken as one of the mutated bug citizens from an outbreak caused by a radioactive substance in Crest Falls, which is Macabre City's nearby town. Because of this, he was constantly hunted by the city's extermination teams as they feared he posed a threat to the city. Having received a lifetime sentence for being a Crest Falls contaminate and escapee, as well as general criminality and theft, Pest would be put under a series of tests, and after nearly a year, Pest would become physically and mentally disturbed, beginning to speak to his own shadow and inflict self-harm. Pest has been said by DrRETRO to have been meeting a figure in both his dreams and walking stages, speaking to one another frequently. The figure would call him "Pest", which leads to his in-game nickname. Some time later, Pest would later be broken out by DrRETRO, and thus they would go on to work together to bring down MR and its cult.
